Introducing: Mia Ramo

From Nottingham roots to Nashville lights, Mia Ramo is an exciting new voice in the UK country scene. She lives in Nottingham, and in the past few years has built her name as an independent country artist.

Live Performances

Mia has had a busy 2025, with live shows across the UK and a recent  trip to Nashville where she took the chance to share her music with new audiences. She performed at the Nashville Writers Round at Green Light Bar and sang a co-written track called Pickups and Putdowns. This is a playful country love song that flips the script on modern dating and cliche chat-up lines.

Back in the UK, Mia’s recent performances have included:

  • Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds

  • Northern Guitars, Leeds

  • Production Park – After Eden Festival

  • York Sports Club – Charity Event supporting Owen Morton (June 20th)

  • Ilkeston Hoedown Festival (August 2nd)

  • Deadwood Promotions Hoedown II (August 19th)

  • Dry Dock Leeds Hoedown (October 10th)

  • The Dukes of Highgate, supporting Savannah Gardener (October 25th)

  • Lil Nashville, London – duet with Owen Morton (October 26th)

She’s also earned a growing following on social media with her acoustic covers of country songs. We love a great country cover! Our favourites include Ella Langley’s “Girl You’re Taking Home” and her cover of Chris Stapleton’s “What are you Listening to?” Check it out below on Instagram. (We need a full song of this one!)

Mud on my Boots

Mia Ramo’s Mud on My Boots is a slow-burning acoustic track that tells the story of a woman who sees through her partner’s lies that he is going out hunting to see another woman. The track turns suspicion into storytelling and with lyrics such as “No deer on the line, just the smell of perfume and cheap red wine,” Mia calls out the betrayal with a steady calm.

What’s next

Mia has recently released her new song Two can play that Game. The song was written by Mia during her final year of university. The song is available for streaming now. Mia has more live shows lined up for 2026. We’re looking forward to seeing her career grow as country music continues to thrive across the UK, supported by an ever more welcoming and connected community.

In Conversation With Mia Ramo:

  • You’ve released Mud on Your Boots. What inspired the story behind it?

Mud on Your Boots was a really fun song to write. I sat down with my guitar and wanted to write a song strong in storytelling and different to my life. I really zoned in on the southern American culture. The idea of hunting came about as I thought camo was a clever concept to be ‘hiding’ cheating from a partner. I love playing around with double meanings in songwriting.

  • You’ve spoken about being inspired by artists like Ella Langley. What is it about her music that inspires you?

When I first came across Ella Langley in 2023 I loved the sheer grit she had to her music. It has an edge that you don’t hear to often. I loved the songwriting within her songs with most songs having really clever hooks for example my personal favorite 20-20 the hook line love is blind but hindsight is 20-20 was just one of those lines in a song where my brain goes ‘wow I wish I’d thought of that’. I think that her determination and hard work is something I really look up to and really inspires me along with her badass stage presence!

  • Nashville Copy is a new website to celebrate and support country artists. What’s one lesson you’ve learned about releasing music independently?

How much there is to it!!! Don’t get me wrong it’s so much fun and it’s all part of the process but releasing music independently is definitely not easy! There was a lot more hurdles I had to jump than I thought I’d have to! But all in all I love being an independent artist and I love being able to have the complete control over it.

  • You’ve played a lot of live performances this year. How did you first start, and what advice would you give to someone just beginning?

I started performing live at school when I was just 14! I remember being very nervous for my first performance but the buzz I got coming off stage kept me wanting to do it more! My biggest advice for someone starting out is to just go for it! If your nervous or scared just push yourself cause once you’ve been on stage once you just want to keep doing it more and more!

  • We saw you met Tucker Wetmore in Nashville! How exciting! How did this come about? Are you planning to catch one of his UK shows next year?

Wow Yes! This is a moment that I still cannot believe happened! I’d been told before going to Nashville that you never know who you might see but I didn’t believe it would really happen. Meeting him was a complete coincidence, we were on our last proper night out of the trip in Losers bar in Midtown, and went to the back of the room to use the Photo Booth, as we got the the back room I looked and thought omg that is Tucker Wetmore (even crazier that we had gone to the Grand Ole Opry to see him 6 days before) had a lovely chat with him but didn't want to bother him for too long! I am absolutely planning on catching him at his UK show will be the 3rd time seeing him! Me and my cousin who I was out in Nashville with are both going to the Manchester show and then planning on flying back out to Nashville the next day haha!

  • Finally because we love all things Nashville! What was your favourite bar on Broadway from the trip?

Ooo what a great question! In terms of Broadway I’d have to say either Tootsies or Kids Rocks, We got the chance to go to Tootsies 65th birthday bash which was lots of fun a full broadway street take over. However…. My favourite bar in Nashville has to be Losers! We found ourselves in Losers every single night of the week! Absolutely loved Chris Andreucci’s sets, and it was cool to see someone from the UK over in Nashville.
